Welcome to the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award program, a prestigious initiative dedicated to empowering young people aged 13-24 worldwide. In Sri Lanka, this program operates under the auspices of the National Youth Services Council, offering a platform for personal development, leadership cultivation, and community engagement. Established in the early 1980s.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award program has been a beacon of opportunity for countless youth, guiding them on a journey of self-discovery, service, and achievement. The Award has three Levels including Bronze, Silver, and Gold..
Bronze
The Bronze Journey is a 6-month challenge for young people aged 13 and above, designed to unlock your potential, build new skills, and make a difference in your community!
Silver
The Silver Journey is a 12-month challenge for young people aged 15 and above. It's about trying new things, learning new skills, and helping your community!
Gold
The Gold Journey is a 18-month Journey for those aged 16 and above. It’s about pushing your limits, growing as a leader, and making a big difference in your community and beyond!

New Board of Directors Appointed
On the 27th of January, The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Sri Lanka officially appointed its new Board of Directors. This esteemed group of professionals brings a wealth of experience and commitment to youth development. Their leadership will play a vital role in strengthening governance, promoting transparency, and guiding the strategic direction of the Award nationwide. The new Board is dedicated to ensuring the continued success and growth of the Award in empowering young Sri Lankans.

New National Director Appointed
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Sri Lanka is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Ramanan Selvanathan as the new National Director. With a strong background in youth engagement and programme development, Mr. Selvanathan brings dynamic leadership and a deep commitment to expanding the Award’s reach across Sri Lanka. His appointment marks a significant step forward in strengthening the impact and sustainability of the Award for future generations.
