Appointment Announcement: Data Privacy Lead for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Sri Lanka

Training for District Coordinators on Award Management We are happy to share that we recently held a District Coordinator Training to improve how the Award is managed in different areas of Sri Lanka. The training gave District Coordinators the skills and knowledge they need to guide Award Centres and support young people taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. Topics included how to manage the Online Record Book (ORB), follow Award rules, keep young people safe (safeguarding), and report progress properly.

Who Attended: District Coordinators from across the country

The session was practical and interactive, with group work, real examples, and time for questions. It helped everyone better understand their role and plan how to support more young people in their districts. Thank you to all the coordinators who joined and shared their ideas. Official Appointment: Designated Safeguarding Lead for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Sri Lanka We are pleased to announce that The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award – Sri Lanka has officially appointed a Designated Safeguarding Lead to strengthen our commitment to the safety and well-being of all participants, volunteers, and staff involved in the Award. The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is responsible for overseeing the implementation of safeguarding policies, managing reports or concerns of harm, and ensuring that our safeguarding practices align with national and international standards. The DSL serves as the first point of contact for any safeguarding-related queries or concerns.
